Abstract

This resource complies the data in support of the publication:
Ahammad, M., J.A. Czuba, A. Pfeiffer, B.P. Murphy, and P. Belmont (2021), Simulated dynamics of mixed versus uniform grain size sediment pulses in a gravel-bedded river, Journal of Geophysical Research – Earth Surface, 126, e2021JF006194. https://doi.org/10.1029/2021JF006194

It includes:
-- code that runs the model in MATLAB
-- model inputs of river width and slope
-- surveyed GSD of the bed surface
-- conditioned GSD used for modeling
-- simulated sediment pulse movement from the river network from Ahammad et al., 2021, JGR
-- simulated summary results from Ahammad et al., 2021, JGR

readme.txt

NetworkModel.txt --- provides MATLAB version of the model.

Surveyed_GSD.xlsx --- provides surveyed grain size distribution at diffferent locations in the model domain.

Model_input.xlsx --- provides width, initial slope and conditioned surface grain size distribution at each link.

Summary_output.xlsx --- provides the outlet volumes, maximum sediment depths by different pulses at downstream, along with their fraction within network with time.

Simulated_sedpulsedepth.xlsx --- provides the changes in sediment depth from baseline conditions for 10, 30, and 70 mm uniform and mixed pulses. Post-pulse time-average changes can be calculated from here.
