Abstract
These data were collected on the Richland Creek Wildlife Management Area at 31°58′10″N 96°03′56″W. They include soil characterization data, and time series of rainfall data and vertical profiles of soil temperature, soil water content and the stable isotope composition of soil water. The data are part of Brandon Okafor's MS thesis. A peer-reviewed publication is forthcoming and will be linked to this resource once published.

The following tables are part of this resource: Table S1_Trinity_soil_RCWMA_characterization_data This table contains soil characterization data from samples collected from a backhoe-excavated trench at the study site. The table include standard soil characterization data by horizon. Table S2_depths of gas wells This study involved sampling of soil CO2 from soil gas wells constructed of perforated and waterproofed PVC. This table shows the depth intervals of the perforated zone. It also shows the depths at which soil temperature measurements were made. Table S3_ML table This table shows the gravimetric water contents and oxygen and hydrogen isotope compositions of soil water (time series and depth profiles). Samples were collected by augering and water was vacuum distilled before isotopic analysis. This table shows data from microlows (microtopographically low areas, lookup gilgai or Vertisol microtopography). The difference from local meteoric water line (LMWL) was calculated by first fitting a straight line through all of the Waco, TX GNIP rainfall d18O and dD data, calculating the LMWL d18O value at the observed soil water dD value and subtracting the observed soil water d18O value from the LMWL d18O value. Table S4_MH table This table is the same as the previous table but for microtopographic highs. Table S5_Soil CO2 and T table This table contains measured soil CO2 concentrations, CO2 carbon and oxygen isotope compositions, soil temperatures and d18O values of water in equilibrium with CO2 at measured temperatures. Table S6_GNIP_WACO_rainfall This table contains Waco, TX GNIP data relevant to the study. These data are not newly reported here. They are included for the convenience of the user. Table S7_RCWMA_rainfall_table This table includes amounts and stable isotope compositions of local rainfall (at the study site) during the period of study. Table S8_soil_solution_sampler_water_isotopic_compositions This table includes isotopic compositions of soil water collected under tension (300 bars) in the field using a soil solution sampler. The depth at which the soil solution sampler sampled soil water was 140 cm.
