Abstract
This resource contains a Matlab-script as supplementary material to the paper "The Value of Using Multiple Hydro-meteorological Variables to Predict Temporal Debris Flow Susceptibility in an Alpine Environment" published in Water Resources Research. The script demonstrates the identification of the trigger type of debris flows events, which is either long-lasting rainfall, short duration storm or intense snow melt, by analyzing the catchment state based on multiple hydro-meteorological variables. In the second part of the script, these trigger-type separated catchment state information at debris flow occurrence are used in a Naïve Bayes Classifier model to examine the temporal susceptibility of the catchment to debris flows on a daily basis.
