Abstract
This resource is a web link. We have developed a set of interactive java applets to illustrate solutions to common problems in solute transport and groundwater flow. Cases include: (a) Diffusion + first-order reaction in spherical particles; (b) Non-reactive and reactive solute transport with 1D, 2D, and 3D dispersion (e.g. Ogata-Bank and Domencio solutions) (c) 1D transport with mass-transfer sorption and first-order decay; (d) 1D transport with chain decay reactions; (e) 2D steady flow and particle tracking in homogeneous or random permeability fields.
There is also a neat java applet for pump test analysis using type-curve fitting for non-leaky and leaky aquifers. External pump test data can be uploaded and displayed on a log-log plot, the user can then use arrow buttons to move type-curves (Theis, Walton-Hantush-Jacob) to fit to the data.
