Abstract
This HydroShare resource contains an educational Jupyter Notebook demoing how to access, process and visualize water data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The notebook leverages the dataRetrieval R package to programmatically discover monitoring sites based on their proximity to a user-defined landmark and visualize time series water data.

Demo of automated USGS water data retrieval, mapping, and visualization in R

This HydroShare resource contains a Jupyter Notebook designed to demonstrate the process of discovering, retrieving and visualizing water data from the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) using the dataRetrieval R package. The goal is to provide a template for researchers to create computational narratives that are easily reusable and adaptable to different geographic locations and water quality or quantity parameters.
The contents in this HydroShare resource are:
