Abstract
This resource demonstrates the steps for developing Precipitation Depth Duration and Frequency (DDF) information as part of the "Precipitation Frequency and Storm Analysis in Operational Hydrology" module. Specifically, the resource includes a Python notebook designed to guide users through the process of downloading and generating DDF curves for Asheville (Station ID: 31-0301). This activity was developed January 2025 as part of a CIROH HydroLearn Hackathon.

This resource is part of a HydroLearn module (Precipitation Frequency and Storm Analysis in Operational Hydrology) designed to demonstrate the process of developing Precipitation Depth Duration and Frequency Information. To Use This Resource: 1. Click "Open With" at the top right to access the HydroShare resource on your selected computing platform. Choose from CIROH JupyterHub, CUAHSI JupyterHub, or CyberGIS-Jupyter for Water. 2. Once in JupyterHub, open the file 'DDF_steps.ipynb'. 3. Follow the steps in the notebook to create depth-duration-frequency (DDF) curves using precipitation Annual Maximum Series (AMS).
