Abstract

PyNdat is an open-source Python package that supports CIROH research-to-operations (R2O) efforts by enabling multi-year streamflow drought frequency analysis and visualization of results using Severity-Duration-Frequency (SDF) for any USGS streamflow gauge across the United States. The package retrieves USGS streamflow observations, quantifies drought severity across multiple durations and return periods, and generates SDF curves. PyNdat is designed to support reproducible and accessible streamflow drought frequency analysis.
