Abstract
This repository contains hydrologic data collected at three dairy farms (denoted A, B, and C) in Connecticut (location not denoted) focused around the 2022 growing season. This data is used to study soil water bypass in agricultural soils across hay and silage corn fields.
- Soil_VWC_Hydroshare.csv: Volumetric water content (VWC) measurements taken in triplicate at 6 depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50 cm) taken biweekly from May to August 2022.
- Soil_Iso_Hydroshare.csv: Stable water isotope (18O and 2H) compositions for profiled bulk soil water samples (0-50 cm) taken biweekly from May to August 2022. Soil samples were collected in triplicate using a 5 cm soil auger. Samples depths were 0-5, 5-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50 cm, and denoted by the lowest depth.
- GW_Iso_Hydroshare.csv: Soil water isotopes (18O and 2H) compositions for groundwater samples taken at each farm from groundwater fed spigots or springs from May to December 2022.
- Precip_Iso_Hydroshare.csv: Stable water isotopic (18O and 2H) compositions of biweekly accumulative precipitation samples collected at Farm A using a container with a mineral oil film to prevent evaporative isotopic fractionation.
- Lab_Analysis_Notes.txt: Specifics concerning the laboratory procedures used to analyze the stable water isotopic compositions of the precipitation, groundwater, and soil water samples.
