Abstract

This resource contains a Python 3 program that can be used in Jupyter Notebook to download annual peak streamflow data from United States Geological Survey (USGS) Surface Data Portal for a USGS gage station and plot its flood frequency curve.

Description:
This resource contains the Python code used to download Peak Streamflow data. It also
contains sample data downloaded for USGS Station Number 03335500 (Wabash River at 
Lafayette) and its Flood Frequency Curve.

> peakstreamflow.ipynb
This python code has been created using Jupyter Notebook with Pythod 3.0. The program
can be used to download and save peak streamflow data (based on user defined station
number) as a .txt file in the assigned location and further plot and its flood frequency
curve.

> Example Dataset (Data_03335500_raw.txt, Flood Frequency Curve.png)
The example dataset contains data downloaded for USGS Station 03335500 and its 
corresponding flood frequency curve.
