Abstract
Coastal aquifers commonly exhibit heterogeneity in hydraulic conductivity, a critical factor controlling groundwater extraction. Most existing analytical solutions for groundwater withdrawal in coastal regions assume homogeneous or vertically stratified aquifers, neglecting anthropogenic modifications such as land reclamation and subsurface construction that introduce horizontal heterogeneity. This HydroShare resource contains the numerical models and MATLAB codes developed to support the study of “Maximum Sustainable Pumping Rate in Coastal Aquifers with Landward Horizontal Heterogeneity: A Two-Zone Semi-Analytical Solution”. The archived materials include numerical groundwater flow and solute transport models (case setting: L = 400 m, x_w = 300 m, K1 = 2 m/d, K2 = 1 m/d, αL = 10.0 m, and αT = 0.50 m) and a MATLAB script for calculating the maximum sustainable pumping rate. These materials are provided to facilitate reproducibility of the numerical experiments and semi-analytical calculations presented in the study and to support further investigation of groundwater management in heterogeneous coastal aquifer systems.
