Abstract

This dataset contains a shapefile of 25 mountain catchments in central Argentina, along with a land cover GeoTIFF for the same catchments at 30 m resolution. Land cover classes are coded as 1 = Exposed Rock, 3 = Herbaceous Vegetation, and 8 = Woody Vegetation. The land cover map was generated using MapBiomas Chaco 2018 and an additional classification for exposed rock. All files are in the EPSG:32720 coordinate reference system.

These files correspond to the paper "Biophysical controls on water yield in semiarid mountains: Insights from 25 catchments in central Argentina" written by Barbero Iván, Nosetto Marcelo, Jobbagy Esteban and Poca María.
