Flood Map Comparison | Title: Flood Map Comparison and Relevant Accuracy: A Study in Cotunda, Ecuador Abstract: This study investigates the accuracy of flood maps generated by AutoRoute software compared to the FIER flood map, a 10-year flood model derived from satellite imagery. The study area is located in Cotunda, Ecuador, within the Amazon region. Utilizing raster data from both AutoRoute and FIER, the analysis focuses on delineating flood boundaries and assessing the agreement and discrepancies between the two flood maps. Positive, negative, and ambiguous comparisons are employed to evaluate the accuracy of the AutoRoute flood map in capturing flood extents. Keywords: AutoRoute, FIER, Flood Map, Raster, Satellite, 10-year Flood Authors: Taylor Miskin , Dr. Ames Coverage - Spatial: Cotunda, Ecuador, Amazon region Coverage - Temporal: The analysis encompasses the latest available flood maps generated by AutoRoute and FIER for the study area in Cotunda, Ecuador. Additional metadata: Any additional metadata specific to the dataset or analysis methods used should be provided to enhance the understanding and usability of the resource. |

Thanks Taylor. Improving the accuracy of flood mapping looks great. However, it would be useful if you provided further explanation regarding the FIER flood map and specified which satellite you used in your research.
