Abstract
Concerned stakeholders in the Carbon county wanted an assessment of the severity of conditions in 2021 when compared to historical streamflow conditions. A United States Geological Survey (USGS) gaging station naming Medicine Bow R Ab Seminoe Reservoir, Nr, WY (06635000) was selected for this work. The gaging station was selected using the by USGS | National Water Dashboard (2023). This gaging station is at a location of (42.0096844 N, 106.513083 W) and at an altitude of 6415.4ft. The station has a historical record of the discharge data managed by the USGS. The drought assessment includes the retrieval of discharge data from the station 06635000, plotting the relevant variables, and the analysis of plots. The assessment was done by writing a Python code in Jupyter Notebook. The code is shared here and can be easily run in CAUSHI Jupyterhub.
