ABSTRACT:
Shapefile recording the federal protection classifications of roughly 253,000 wetlands in New York State, sourced from the National Wetlands Inventory (NWI). Wetland polygons were obtained from the National Wetlands Inventory (NWI). Wetlands are classified under both the Clean Water Rule (CWR) and the Navigable Waters Protection Rule (NWPR) based on the NHD stream network. Adjacent wetland polygons were merged to prevent errors in classification. See manuscript for full description of wetland filtering.
ABSTRACT:
Federal protection classifications of roughly 253,000 wetlands in New York State, sourced from the National Wetlands Inventory (NWI), aggregated by both wetland size and the distance from a wetland to the nearest jurisdictional water. This resource contains 6 Excel sheets:
cwr_jur_percent = Percent of unique wetlands within each size and position bin classified as jurisdictional under the CWR.
cwr_sig_percent = Percent of unique wetlands within each size and position bin classified as significant nexus under the CWR.
nwpr_jur_percent = Percent of unique wetlands within each size and position bin classified as jurisdictional under the NWPR.
cwr_jur_area = Total wetland area within each size and position bin classified as jurisdictional under the CWR.
cwr_sig_area = Total wetland area within each size and position bin classified as significant nexus under the CWR.
nwpr_jur_area = Total of wetland area within each size and position bin classified as jurisdictional under the NWPR.
NaN values indicate that there were no wetlands with that combination of wetland size and wetland position.
ABSTRACT:
Federal protection classifications of roughly 253,000 wetlands in New York State, sourced from the National Wetlands Inventory (NWI), aggregated by the size of wetlands. Percentage values indicate the proportion of wetland area within each size bin falling into a jurisdictional category.

ABSTRACT:
Three beaver dam analogues installed along Red Canyon Creek, Lander, WY were monitored during the summer of 2019 to assess their effect on hyporheic processes. The files within this collection correspond to various hydrologic measurements, including porewater geochemistry, heat tracing, and vertical hydraulic gradients.

ABSTRACT:
This collection of data explores how the implementation of the Clean Water Rule and the Navigable Waters Protection Rule would affect the federal protection of wetlands in New York State under the Clean Water Act. Further analyses assess the presence of biases in the protection of wetlands with respect to both size and landscape position.
