ABSTRACT:
Sampling was conducted from October 2022-September 2024 across 7 sites (listed above from downstream to upstream) in the Northwest Arkansas region at Mullins Branch. Mainstem sites are listed with an "M" in the third character of the site name, whereas tributary sites are listed with either "A" or "B" in the third character of the site name. Samples were filtered in-field with glass fiber filters (Type GF/F) and transported to lab on ice. Samples were stored at -4*C until analysis. The majority of nutrients were analyzed using a SEAL AA500 Autoanalyzer. Nitrate was measured using SEAL method MT507A (cadmium reduction method). Soluble reactive phosphorus was measured using SEAL method MT519 (molybdenum blue method). Ammonium was measured using SEAL method MT519 (indophenol blue method). Some samples were analyzed at the Arkansas Water Resources Center (AWRC) and are so marked in the notes of the compiled data. Nutrients at the AWRC were measured using a Skalar San ++ System Autoanalyzer for nitrate using EPA method EPA 353.2, soluble reactive phosphorus using EPA method EPA 365.1 and ammonium using EPA method EPA 351.2. Standard QAQC procedures were followed incorporating evaluation of both standard curves and check standards run routinely throughout the analysis.
ABSTRACT:
This is nutrient data (nitrate, soluble reactive phosphorus, ammonium) from 2024 Water Year for the Brush Creek Watershed. Depending on the presence/absence of water, we sampled up to 12 sites in the watershed per sampling date. This watershed is a part of the Arkansas Discovery Watershed Program run by Dr. Shannon Speir. Column descriptions are found within the file. Abbreviations: NO3 = nitrate; SRP = soluble reactive phosphorus; NH4 = ammonium, DL = detection limit, and BD = below detection.
