ABSTRACT:
This dataset contains physico-chemical properties of the Santa Elena Ophiolite, Costa Rica different fluid types from sampling conducted from 2013 to 2025. In addition, the dataset also contains annual export fluxes of major ions, trace metals, dissolved gases, and carbon of the Santa Elena fluids from 2024-2025 sampling campaigns. Finally, the dataset includes H2 and CH4 flux rates across known seep and spring sites, geothermal fields, and 'fairy circle; structures worldwide.
ABSTRACT:
The Supplementary Table 1 dataset contains average monthly precipitation and temperature values across the global serpentinization sites. The Supplementary Table 2 dataset includes 16 physical and geochemical variables from low temperature continental serpentinization sites, grouped by climate using the Köppen-Geiger climate classification. The data covers parameters such as pH, temperature, major ions, trace elements, and dissolved gas concentrations. This data collection supports analysis of how water availability influences serpentinization-related fluid chemistry. The Supplementary Table 3 dataset is statistical comparison results of the global hyperalkaline fluids using the Wilcoxon rank-sum test.
